»The Palio of Siena

The Palio is a competition between the contradas of Siena and is held twice a year (July 2nd Palio di Provenzano, and 16 August Palio of the Assumption). The race, which takes place in Piazza del Campo, involving ten of the seventeen contrade. In the four days preceding the race will play a series of activities and events not to be missed.

»Historical Parade in Florence
June 24, the day of the celebrations for the patron saint of Florence, San Giovanni Battista, is played in the Calcio Storico Fiorentino.Prima the dispute from the Church of Santa Maria Novella part of a parade consisting of 550 "set", with "liveries" of kicking, the sixteenth-century uniforms of Florentine nobles and soldiers, weapons and flags of the time, takes us back as if by magic in the exciting, cheerful and festive atmosphere of the Renaissance. The celebrations in honor of the saint they end with the fireworks that light up the whole of Florence from Piazzale Michelangelo.
